Camping along the St. Lawrence River

Over Labor Day weekend we went camping along the St. Lawrence River in northern NY. Here are a few photos from the trip….
Sunset Over the St. Lawrence River
Belted Kingfisher
This immature Osprey was hanging around the nest, which was on a platform on a power pole, looking for its parents to feed it.
Common Loon
We were very excited to spot young Merlin (a kind of small falcon) sitting atop a telephone pole. It would occasionally fly out to catch a dragonfly and then come back to its perch.
There were lots of Ring-billed Gulls that weren’t shy and came quite close.
